The headache of marketing

Hello my Ravens. I love being an indie writer, but it comes with it's headaches. Marketing is the hardest part of this career. You have to be creative and incredibly patient to try and get your name out there. Some nights I feel like beating my head into a wall, because I feel like I've done everything humanly possible. I have this blog,my youtube channel, my Amazon and Facebook Author's pages, and Twitter among other things. Another thing I do is generate marketing memes that a lot of people seem to get a kick out of. Here are some samples.

Why are so many people turned off by Horror?

Whether it be a book signing or a writers conference people definitely have a different look on their face when they get to my table. Their eyes get wide when they see my book covers and 9 times out of 10 they do the fake little shiver then say "Oh, I don't like Horror. I have nightmares" In turn I want to vomit. The question for me is why is scary stuff such a big deal to people? It's like trying to sell to The Cowardly Lion and a thousand of his clones. Okay, you have nightmares. Is that really a big deal? A sample from Accents of Horror- Story 1 " A Stranger in the rain."

Danny Miller drove aimlessly down the dark road squinting through each swipe of the wiper blades. About 15 miles back, the rain began in sprinkles and the transformed into a full-out monsoon. This was a recipe for disaster considering he had not slept in close to forty-eight hours. Luckily he had seen little traffic on this highway thus far. And at least he had quit drinking. Eight months ago, Danny was an average American. He worked nine to five in a factory driving a forklift. It was a nonstop routine, but he was a creature of habit anyway. Plus he made decent money.
